The Colton Oil Syndicate is a volunteer-run bulk-purchase arrangement for heating oil in the Colton Parish area. Coordinators take orders from their neighbouring properties at fixed dates throughout the year (see below) and submit these to other volunteers who ring round the oil companies to get the best price for bulk delivery. It is up to individuals to make their own financial arrangements for payment – the syndicate doesn’t deal with finance.
